Our vision and mission
Copenhagen Theatre School is an English-speaking Theater Company for international as well as local, children, youth, and adults living in and around Copenhagen. No matter what age you are, we use theatre as a medium to laugh and have fun, but also to help our students grow as individuals and team players. We train our self-confidence, our creativity, speaking up, being better listeners, and making friends in a safe and playful environment.
The company is founded by actress, theatre instructor and dramapedagog Madeleine Dolby, who has over 10 years of solid experience working with children, teenagers and adults in the artistic field of theatre. Her love for theatre has spread to those she has taught, and through time she has found and developed what has now become such a joyous but also educational curriculum. The school therefore has its roots in both classical and modern storytelling, with its main focus on improvisation, and physical theatre.

Our theatre classes
Our classes are normally weekly, and follow the Danish school holiday calendar. We also offer shorter and more intense courses and gladly take freelance bookings at private institutions upon request. Our lessons have a big focus on using our minds and bodies creatively, through theatre games, comedy, mime, and improvisation.
For our longer courses, each term leads up to an end of term show, where the students families and loved ones are invited to come and enjoy our funny and original theatre performances.

End of Term Shows
Our longer courses have two shows a year per class, one before the Christmas break and one before the summer break.
Our shows are based on what we work on throughout the course. Sometimes this is entirely created by the students creativity and other times we based the show on a manuscript or on our own version of a well known theatre story.
